Trailmates is the one Glenby feature with an age limit: 18+, moderated. Instead of an endless swipe carousel, Trailmates shows you people nearby taking on similar microadventures, for a shared hike or a task done together.
There's no score, no ranking by attractiveness, no algorithm designed to keep you swiping as long as possible. The goal is a calm way to find someone real, not a game that never ends.
Messages between you are end-to-end encrypted before they reach Glenby's servers. Only you two can read them, we can't.
A match isn't an end in itself: once you've found each other, you can start a co-op party right away and take on a task together, with shared progress instead of separate stats. Trailmates is meant to turn into a real shared way of getting outside, not just a chat.

Are my Trailmates messages really encrypted?
Yes. Notes are encrypted on your device before they reach our servers. We can't read them ourselves, only you and the person you're sharing with can.
Does Trailmates have a leaderboard or looks-based rating?
No. There's no rating by appearance and no leaderboard. Trailmates shows you nearby people with similar microadventure interests, nothing else.
Why does Trailmates deliberately skip swiping and gamification?
Many dating and social apps lean on mechanics built to maximize time in the app: endless swiping, scores, leaderboards. That works against actually going outside. Trailmates instead shows you a small, manageable set of people nearby, with no pressure to keep swiping.
