A microadventure is a small task outdoors, close enough to fit inside a short walk, no big trip, no gear. Glenby suggests one or two a day, matched to the season and your area, and a photo with place and timestamp honestly shows you were there.

As little as 10 minutes outside shows a measurable effect, and around 120 minutes a week is considered the wellbeing threshold (White et al., 2019 study). A daily microadventure on Glenby doesn't need hours at a time to fit inside that.

Because that's not the problem Glenby is trying to solve. Instead of planning long tours, Glenby focuses on small, recurring occasions right outside your door. Our own page on the microadventure principle explains exactly how that works.

You take a photo on the spot, Glenby reads location and timestamp automatically. No uploading old photos, no exceptions, no manual approval. That keeps the proof honest without anyone needing to police it.

Nothing breaks. Glenby's weekly streak counts completed days per week, one missed day doesn't reset you to zero. That's a deliberate choice against the guilt mechanism many streak apps use.

No. There's no global leaderboard and no comparison with strangers. Progress is personal or, for two-person microadventures, shared only with people you invite yourself.

No, deliberately not. Glenby doesn't promise automatic species identification. What you see and document stays your own observation, not an algorithm's guess.

Yes. The database lives with a hosting provider in Frankfurt. Encrypted photos and voice notes are stored with Cloudflare (US, EU-US Data Privacy Framework), and chat delivery runs on the same infrastructure. There's no selling to ad networks, and the full list of processors is in the privacy policy.

Notes you write in Glenby are encrypted on your device before they reach Glenby's servers. Only you and the person you share with can read them, we can't.

18: age is checked at signup. Shared content is moderated, and profiles and messages can be reported anytime with one tap.

GDPR requires a response within one month (Art. 12 GDPR). In practice, we process deletion requests through our deletion page considerably faster.

Glenby is free to use from day one. Glenby+ and Glenby+ Duo build on top of that, optional, monthly or yearly, all prices include VAT.

Yes, anytime. Switching runs through the subscription management in the app (the billing portal of our payment provider Stripe), no need to cancel and sign up again.
